Cry Babies

UPDATE: Obama and the childish left . Our pathetic, obsessive drool.

FIRST HILLARY, then heaven only knows who's next. But, look, when you're the party of the Nanny State, whadda you expect but to produce a nation of cry babies, throwing tantrums at the slightest offense? She who cries louder and longer, wins. No one will be able to express an opinion or a frustration or even make an off color remark without someone else taking offense , throwing a tantrum and being a cry baby.

But wait, just when we think things can't get worse, here comes Jesse Jackson, Jr. whining that Hillary may have shed tears in New Hampshire ---'she shed tears that melted the Granite state'---but where, pray tell, were Hillary's tears after Katrina? After the sub prime meltdown? After the cow jumped over the moon? I mean, we need to analyze Hillary's tears carefully here in the Nanny State and make sure all tears are shed equally, and for the right reasons.

No fair crying for anything politically incorrect either. It simply doesn't count. So buck up, and cry right!

Here's something to cry about in case you're wondering. Obama again. And then there's Obami.

Michelle Malkin has more.

Image thanks to MM too.

Web - how did that class act Michelle Malkin get our new logo??? We haven't even finished voting on it at our local politburo meetings! I was really hoping we'd go for the logo with our patron saint, Osama bin Laden, receiving a burning copy of the US Constitution from a burqa-wearing Nancy "I Love Terrorists more than I Love my Grandchildren" Pelosi.

I'm not sure I'm sold on our new motto, though - "Childish, Immature Cry-babies"; frankly, that doesn't really say everything that's wrong with the left in this country. I'm hoping my admittedly long-winded entry will become the new demoncRAT motto: "Liberals - Family Values Hating, Islam Loving, Birkenstock Wearing, Dope Smoking, Volvo Driving, Latte Drinking, New York Times Reading, Troop Loathing, Abortion Mandating, Gay Marrying, Bible Prohibiting, Gun Control Enforcing, Democracy Despising Tax-Hiking Losers".

Whaddya think - that about sums up the Dems you know, right?

wWll, Vienna, what do you think? I rather like them both....but the latter might be a wee long-winded for a bumper sticker, especially on a Prius.

I think it's EXACTLY right. Deep down, you know it's what the traitors you hang with in New Hampshire are like.

It must be nice being a Republican though - where everyone is good looking, wealthy, physically fit, popular, intelligent, witty, erudite, incredibly happy, the most patriotic...you get the drill. Must be a real drag to have to share the US with us losers.

p.s. I don't drive a Prius - we drive only American cars. Just another in a long list of things we do to hate America!!

now, now, vienna, let's not get all carried away...we've already established long ago that you and your husband are patriots.....but if you want to get wigged out nonetheless, be my guest....

Well, I suppose we can leave the patriotism out of it if we must...I'm not wigged out about it, in fact it's generated a good deal of laughter and eye-rolling in my house with friends and family.

But, in the interest of raising the standards of the debate, allow me to speak for my fellow demorcrats and say that it's fine to call us immature, pathetic, childish crybabies.

well in the interst of truth and honesty, I'm sure there are at least five or six Dems who aren't cry babies....but only five or six mind you....

So were you an immature, pathetic, childish crybaby when you were a Dem? Or were you one of the lucky few who wasn't?

Here's my take on Conservatives: "Family Values Mandating, Closet Living, Christianity Adoring, Other Religion Fearing, Constitution Shredding, 2nd Ammendment Keeping, Supports Wiretapping, Contraception Banning, Pickup Truck Driving, Confederate Flag Waving, Nascar Following, Fox News Watching, Liberal Bias Whining, Never book reading, More patriotism Having, Warmongering Crusaders out to change the world - whether they like it or not!(Just don't ask me for any personal sacrifices, thank you)"

That's an apt description of you, no?

....you forgot New York Times burning....country music lovin'....charity giving......First Amendment hugging, and principles over personalities plugging....

You're right! How could I have forgotten the first two...although I'm not sure I would *ever* claim conservatives are first ammendment huggers. They're the ones who usually try to get us to remove books from the local library (Harry Potter and The Golden Compass are the most popular right now). They tend to like the 1st Ammendment when it works well for them.

Come on - principles over personalities? You're kidding, right? If there's a side of the political aisle who likes easy slogans and good lookin' tough talkers (see Romney, Mitt), it sure ain't the terrorists on the left (our admiration of Osama, Ahmedinijad and Ayman al-Zawahiri, nothwitstanding).

I'd say charity givers are both. Personally, we contribute about
$4-5K per year, mostly to disabled vets groups, military relief societies and the like.

You can have country music though. Classic rock is all I need.

I'll grant you that most people, both sides of the aisle, tend to like the First Amendment when it suits them, but start being cry babies when they see and hear things they/we don't like. They forget to use their right to vote with their pocketbook, turn off TV and so on. I was fortunate to have a boss that eventually headed the First Amendment Center here. He was a liberal, but taught me and others in earnest about the 1st.

In my experience working at the public library, 99% of the requests for removal of materials come from conservatives - and usually from Home-schooling Christian families. They seem to want to make it their business to decide what my kids can read.

I have yet to encounter one request from a liberal, a progressive or a democrat to remove any book, magazine, CD or DVD. Not one. Check with your public library - I'll bet you dollars to donuts the results will be the same or very similar.

It must have been awful to have a liberal for a boss. Glad to hear you came through it unscathed, though I find it very hard to believe you learned anything from him. Liberals have nothing of value to teach anyone else.

...well I was a liberal then, so was able to bear up under the strain as best I could....

Thankfully you came through it all.
How did his talks about the first ammendment go? Would he start crying and stomping his feet constantly talking about how mean everyone is to him? Or was it just an immature rambling from someone with the mind of a 3 year old? That's how most liberals make their arguments, you know...

Seriously though, I would encourage you to ask at the public library which patrons tend to make more requests to remove material from the shelves. We have "Banned Book Week" at the library for a reason - and it's not due to the selfish, immature, liberal crybabies out there.

The man who was my publisher and taught me much about writing and First Amendment issues was/is more of a classic liberal of by gone days. He was involved in the Civil Rights Movement with the Kennedys and put his money where his mouth is. While I haven't checked in lately with him to any real depth, I am sure he bemoans the state of the present day party of cry babies. That's just a guess. But I know Jack Kennedy---"ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"---would.

I love that comment of Kennedy's. I'd like to think my family lives it.

Others, on both sides? Not so much.

well, vienna, thank you and your family for living it...we all need to remember this maxim... and our government was never meant to be a sugar daddy.

Believe me, Web, gettin' paid by the sugar daddy isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's a real burden to have both my husband and I receive paychecks from the gummit. From goverment run healthcare that is both efficient and thorough, to commissary privileges, to housing allowances, it's terrible.

And don't even get me started on all the other nanny state annoyances we have to put up with, especially in the Washington, DC area. I mean, there are all sorts of roads around here paid for with federal dollars. Yes, they're generally well maintained, but why does the government have to pay for that? And, try as we might, we just can't find a bank or credit union that isn't FDIC insured. Why should the government have to insure my deposits? And my neighbors - what a bunch of free loaders. If they're not collecting social security, then they're accepting student loans. I can't for the life of me see why the government should help people receive a better education, or help people in their retirement. What a better nation we'll be when families can no longer afford to send their children to college, and old folks can't by food and medicine! Ahhh...that sounds just like paradise.

And don't even get me started on the public schools - my kids have to suffer through one of the best school districts in America. It's just awful. From field trips to Jamestown, Kennedy Center, the Post office and the new library, from foreign language learning to concert band and GT programs, it's a nanny state nightmare!

And then there's the museums, cultural venues, national parks, and national historical sites around us. Why in the world should the nanny state pay for any of that? It's all worthless anyway, and those civil war sites are prime real estate!

I share your pain web...life in the Nanny state livin' large on the sugar daddy's dime is horrifying.
