Sunday, Being Born of the Spirit

PASTOR MIKE ATKINS OF RIVER CROSSING  TALKS ABOUT BEING BORN AGAIN OR  MADE ALIVE IN THE SPIRIT. Jesus teaches Nicodemus, a Pharisee and leader/master of religion in Israel, who has no idea what that means. Jesus references Ezekiel 36 as an Old Testament prophecy of spiritual rebirth and renewal.

We all are dead in spirit when we're born.Yes, we're alive in our emotions, in thoughts and passions and desires. But we remain spiritually dead and live by our own Self Inspired Narrative (SIN) that leaves God out.  Only when we're genuinely born of the spirit and God comes to dwell in us with His sactifying presence do we begin to be liberated from all our many idols and passions.

Atkins reiterates that we can never just live for God. Only by surrendering to God's indwelling us with His Holy Spirit living His life through us can we live a life worthy of His blessings and His calling.

In the end, we have to get off the thrones of our lives and surrender to God being enthroned in our hearts and minds.
