Sunday---The Book of Hebrews @ The Bible Project

IN MY BIBLE FORUM AT CHURCH TODAY, I listened to the most fascinating lecture on Hebrews which I've always found one of the most difficult books of the New Testament. The author of Hebrews is unknown and his or her identity has been hotly debated for thousands of years with no definitive consensus to this day. Today's lecturer made a strong case for Barnabus writing Hebrews somewhere before 70 AD when the Temple in Jerusalem was completely destroyed by the Romans. The book addresses the need for Jewish Christian converts to stay the course in the New Covenant which Christ established rather than back-sliding to their old covenant (Mosaic) ways before Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament. They and we must do this even in the face of persecution and death.
