A Favorite Photo Of the Great Nashville Thousand-Year Flood of 2010

UPDATE: MUSCIANS LOSE MILLIONS IN WAREHOUSED EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING GEAR FOR BRAD PAISLEY'S H2O TOUR
JUST ABOUT SAYS IT ALL. Musicians here have lots of new material to work with after the past few days. While flood waters continue receding, there's still massive high water---and will be for weeks due to huge dam releases upstream from Nashville---and clean-up will be a burgeoning industry here for months, if not years to come.

I must say, Nashville as a city and Nashvillians as a people have behaved in incredibly civilized ways since this massive ordeal began. There's been almost no looting. People everywhere have pitched in to do whatever has needed doing and there's been an endless amount of work. That Volunteer State attitude----as opposed to the entitlement mentality in New Orleans during Katrina---has aided greatly the saving of lives and property, in spite of massive losses. I am proud of my city and its citizens as the work and clean-up has truly just begun and will continue for months, if not years.

"Volunteer State" has never been a more appropriate description!
