December Surprise?

WEDNESDAY UPDATE AND MORE ON FITZ THIS BREAKING news in Illinois is explosive and fraught with potential land mines for President-elect Obama. In a word, it's sleazy. Pathetic. Corrupt. Contemptible.

And people actually think a political messiah can come out of this pigsty? Really?

This conduct would make Lincoln roll over in his grave.

Kudos to Fitz. Funny, the same people applauding Fitzpatrick now are the same people who denigrated him in the Libby/Plame affair. This is a perfect example to show you who values politics and authoritarianism over rule of law.

BTW... Fitzpatrick's complaint makes no mention whatsoever of any involvement of Obama. Obama had no contact with this corrupt governor. In fact, a whole lot less contact than Palin did with convicted felon Stevens who she campaigned for.

Let's take a trip down memory lane..on March, 8, 2007, our own Webutante had this to say about the Plame affair, and the role of Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald who handled the Libby matter:

"American Thinker expounds on the disgraceful miscarriage of justice in the Scooter Libby case. I couldn't agree more. Many people haven't kept up with this case, but if only they really got it that this is a pathetic political scapegoating of the highest order."

She then went on to excerpt passages from the American Thinker article she linked to:

"Patrick Fitzgerald is a disgrace both to the legal profession and to the human race. His partisan allies...are beneath contempt.

"George W. Bush could have stopped Fitzgerald's farce at any time. Fitzgerald serves at the President's pleasure...the President could simply fire him and, for good measure, order the DOJ to star an investigation into Fitzgerald's misconduct in the Librry matter."

I happen to believe that Fitzgerald did the right thing in the Libby matter (no matter what you say, Web, lying under oath is STILL a crime) and looks to be doing the right thing in the Blago matter.

I'm sure this will be fodder on this blog for months to come, even though Blago was taped saying this about Obama on November 11, 2008:

"They're not willing to give me anything [for the Senate Seat] except appreciation. F%$# them."

Now that the Supreme Court has unanimously turned down Leo Donofrio's emergency appeal regarding President-elect Barack Obama's birth certificate, the right wing echo machine has to have something to talk about. I can hardly wait to read the postings about the honesty and integrity of Patrick Fitzgerald...

I hope, really hope that Mr. Obama's hands are clean because it would be a terrible allocation of energy for our country to go through a long investigation at this juncture.

The birth certificate issue is moot as far as I can see.
