Imagine a Presidential administration where the hateful divisiveness of Repub v Dem is gone, an administration where the president’s cabinet has both equal share of Dems and Repubs, where people in this country can suddenly be united around America and not their political party, where America can stand for good in the world instead of cowboy arrogance and unilateral agression, where the government doesn’t hide behind the shadow of executive privilege ignoring oversight and depending on fear to push an agenda, where blind allegience to a "stay the course" philosophy and authoritarianism becomes a dying movement, where the president can work with Congress and not against it, where we can spend $300 million a day on education, science, and making lives better for Americans instead of war. Sounds like a dream.

The youth enthusiasm and turnout in the primaries has been huge. After growing up under the Bush administration, how many of these new voters do you think will feel compelled to vote Republican? Next to none. McCain represents the old, the corrupt, the war and fear mongers. We've had enough, don't you think?

Who wouldn't love all that in a perfect world, Ellen? However, it never turns out quite like that wonderful dream in reality. You people are smitten with a chimera of hope, not a man who really knows of what he speaks.
Believe me, I was a part of all that in the 60s and 70s. It's why so many of us 60s liberals are neo-cons now. We chased the dreams and then ran into some brick walls of the way life really works.
But have at it. The brick walls are just down the way a bit.
