A Few Pics From The Del

The fun and connection here are too mysterious to understand this side of heaven. But this was a wonderful trip for all of us, who've reunined off-and-on for over 20 years. Several of these good men brought me back--albeit slowly---from the jaws of silly and superficial liberalism to conservative principles over many campfires, 22-mile horse rides and decades fly fishing in the Bridger-Teton wilderness. The Lord works in mysterious ways, is all I can say. BTW, this is not the entire group, one or two are missing.

Looks like an interesting group!

Quirkily, and semi off topic, this photo spurs thoughts of some left side group blogs which I keep an eye on. I suspect the left bloggers generally do not know people like the seven of you in this photo - which is to say: the left side bloggers know few people who have successfully navigated the rumble tumble uncertainty of life and of free market economics.

And, I think the distinction is morality: making moral choices. I simply mean this:

it's time to go to sleep now ~ then go to sleep

the alarm is going off ~ then get up

and the moral choices extend to how you interact with your neighbors, how you view and perceive and love your neighbors, to the food you eat, to how you spend and save your money, to your work ethic, et al times a bunch.

I think the left doesn't understand morality as well as, for instance, the seven of you sitting at the table. I've spent almost all of my life with a more limited understanding of morality than I, in retrospect, preferred having.

Anyway, that is where my thoughts turn as I look at the photos of you seven.

And: it's time to go to sleep now! :)

Fri morning was lousy, some rain and the blow but it cleared by 2:00 and we had good fishing. Gabe took a 21" rainbow and I had a 19" brown that jumped 3 times. I was disappointed that we had a poor day Thurs. with wind since the boys come a long way and for only two days. Maybe we should make this a 3 day trip for all. Your request to look at a later date is in my notes. The time just flew and I really didn't get a channce to catch up with everyone-nothing like conversation sitting around fire in Yellowstone Meadow.

It was wonderful seeing everyone. It's truly something to think about how fishing has bonded us all.

And such a fun way to bond. Thank you and all the fellows for making a space for a woman. It was terrific.
