When Are We Law Abiding/Tax Paying Citizens Going To Stand Up To the Loud Lunatic Fringe Taking Over America?

IF WE DON'T START WORKING WITHIN THE SYSTEM IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE, LEGAL WAY WE CAN, THE SYSTEM WILL SOON BE GONE FOREVER. GETTING ANGRY ENOUGH TO ACT IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY.

(Please note the ballot pictured below signifying a vote for Norm Coleman is being challenged by Al Franken with a straight face in Minnesota today. Evidently this person didn't mark the ballot in a way Mr. Franken approves of. Absolutely amazing. How long are we going to put up with this foolishness?)

After decades of being nice, low-keyed and non-angry (we're all so desperately afraid of being called angry), the conservative movement in America---not to mention the demonized, 'evil' Christian element to which I belong----both who've made this country the greatest in the history of the world---- are now facing massive intimidation and shaming from the radical left for who we are and what we stand for. As middle-aged ingrates like radical domestic terrorist Bill Ayers take center stage, now that Mr. Obama has been elected, he assures the youth of America on his book tour that he should have done more bombings back in the 60s. How can we sit idly by and let these insane voices prevail without countering them with opposition?

How can we continue to let the loudest, most radical and demanding dregs among us control the national agenda and prevail through intimidation and mob violence like is now going on in California over Proposition 8, reversing same-sex marriage in California? Never mind that the people have spoken there through a legal election process and the rule of law. The people---read that the gay rights Nazis---want to make all those voters who dared oppose their agenda be criminalized and dispatched. And if they can't win through a legally proscribed voting process, then they'll ram it down our throats through lawless, activist judges who are hell-bent on making law rather than interpreting it. What part of no to gay marriage, yes to gay unions needs further interpreting?

How can we let the likes of Al Franken take over the vote in Minnesota without opening our mouths or our pocketbooks? Meanwhile, Franken is acting like he's already been crowned. And what about the despicable radical left campaign now going on in the state of Georgia? How can we let the creeping socialism now oozing through our country continue on? We need to know our politicians phone numbers and e-mails and wear them out with feedback and comments.

Are we concerned? We better be. And concerned enough to get angry and take concerted, sustained action. Now. It's not enough to say we don't know what to do. Or we're scared. Or too busy. Or someone might think we're not very nice.

Why should I be angry? Because I am sitting on the sidelines letting the left lunatic fringe take over the moral agenda of our country and then scratch my head and wonder, "How did this happen? Isn't it a shame what's happening in our schools. Isn't it shameful that my second grader is required to learn how to put a prophylactic on a banana, thanks to the NEA and other leftists nuts?"

It should be painfully clear by now that unless we begin to speak up, get angry, vote with our pocketbooks and stand up to the increasing radical and vociferous hate mongers on the left fringe, we're going to lose this great country. Until the next election, we need to get involved, vote with out pocketbooks, view with our values and walk away from anything that supports this radical agenda.

A liberal friend e-mailed me yesterday mentioning how angry I sound on my blog at times (without being specific and giving any meaningful examples.). My response is, Good. I must be doing something right. And, expect to see more of this. If anyone feels strongly and wants to take issue with me on my blog, then they are more than free to post a comment citing specifics (a concept which is surely far beneath this person's pay grade.)

I plan to get more selfish in protecting the values and principles I believe in, enough to take a stand and not shrink back from intimidation and threats of being unpopular and worse. By the way, it's why I've been blogging for the past two years.

I'm sick of hearing that I as a Christian and conservative am the shame of my party who wants to ram morality down the country's throat because I oppose abortion, gay marriage and partial birth abortion. Even as the name of God is eradicated from every public arena on every courthouse, in every school and every public discourse and the agenda of a woman's right to choose to abort her child through the 9th (!) month of pregnancy is a policy our new president supports I shrink back? No way. I'm getting angry and staying angry and selfish about this. I hope you will too.

Ted Nugent's Davy Crockett Rant on getting mad, speaking up and taking California and the country back from the fringe elements is worth a read. It should give us inspiration:

"You've got to start raising Hell -- and I am constantly being gunned down by the media; I'm a curse, I'm a dangerous guy, I'm a madman, I'm scary, I have too many guns, I shoot all the deer -- eat me. I stand up and I take the bullets because my name is Davy Crockett. This is the wall of the Alamo. If you can't shoot Santa Anna's men, shut up and load my gun. So get tough and get tougher.

"You don't need tough love in America, you need tougher love. Around the water cooler, at the church, at school. At the work place, at the picnic, and the bowling alley. You should be pounding the desk with your fist, raising hell, and take this beautiful state back from the pimps, and the whores, and the welfare brats, and the gang-bangers who seems to have all the rights in the world while the good people, the productive, law abiding people don't have jack squat -- and I think I am going to throw up."

A dear friend e-mailed me yesterday with the suggestion that people who are concerned about the eradication of God from any and all public discourse in America should write "In God We Trust" on every envelop, every bill and every Christmas card and letter we send out. I couldn't agree more.

Hat tip and more at Dr. Helen's. Also Bruce Walker today on What the Election Loss Means to Conservatives.

I think your party has become obsolete by it's own devices. Conservatives admit, Howard Dean was right.

Way to get it out Webutante! You are NOT alone! My last best hope is that when Americans see that lunatic fringe is no longer the fringe, but in power and running not only states, but our nation they will wake the heck up, get scared or angry or whatever it takes and rise up and demand sanity. The problem is the vast majority of the republicans holding national office seem to be rudderless. They do not know or have their own conviction and therefor cannot speak to conservative issues in a meaningful way. The only person nationally that has any fire seems to be Michael Steele.

We need to need to figure out as a group what is important, good for our country and her people, how to bring back wholesomeness and (God forbid) virtue and stop cheating ourselves and our future of a strong nation (in every sense of that word). Then we need to figure out how to articulate it in a way that regular people understand and can get behind because it reflects importance in their own lives.

How many times have you seen politicians get in front of the camera and talk in generalities or in some intangible abstract when what they NEED to do is say "You want to be screwed? Well that is what Pelosi and Reid are doing and they are smiling while doing it. They do not give a rip about you!" They need to get on TV and pound home the cold hard facts and realities about the path we are on instance by instance with real world examples.

Will they? That is the $250 billion dollar question.

What can you and I do besides refusing to be polite when someone from the left insults us IN OUR OWN HOME! - refuse to buy books from the seller that posts in her window "Bush is a baby killer" - refuse to pay for ONE movie so Hollywood does not get our money. - Donate and work for folks willing to run for office that you think have their head on straight, know the issues and have fire in their belly.

I live in WA state. Not an easy place for a normal person to live. Put a sign out for a Republican, you can expect damage done to your property. Drive an SUV expect keying and people screaming at you from the street corner.

It takes no courage to be one of them here or to just lay low and keep your mouth shut.

No more of that for this one. The other day I heard my husband parsing the meanings of faith and religion and then not coming out and saying he was a Christian and what the people in the convo. were saying was fighting words. I realized then and there that enough was enough! I am sick.

I need to get some freash air. CLEARLY! I have a mad on.

what they NEED to do is say "You want to be screwed?

Yea exactly, not a tough decision... you want another 8 years like Bush or do you want 8 years of peace and unprecedented prosperity like we had during Clinton?

Thanks Wanda.

William, Ive seen Kathleen Parkers piece and think it's utter silliness. Timeless rock-solid conservative principles never go out of style though they may seem to go out of favor for a season. And as for God fearing Christians being what's wrong with the party? We need a lot more to counter the utter chaos the left lunatic fringe now represents.

Also, I doubt that the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years--- thanks in large part to Reagan and Bush--- are coming back anytime soon. We're in a war, do you remember? And in the deepest recession in our lifetimes. This is a whole new era.

If you want to get your comments published here you need to remember to stick with the issues and not personalities and personal attacks....thank you.

Peace and prosperity during Clinton years? LOL Prosperity due to the firm Republican hold on the government purse strings. Thank you Newt.

We were at war in Kosovo during Clinton. We lost guys in Mogadishu, defunded our military and busied ourselves with bombing aspirin factories. And then there was WTC attack #1 - Feb 93. But that was yesterday.

Republicans have not lost their values, they have merely let others misidentify and incorrectly define them. The time for indolence is over.

Indeed, and not just looking towards the next election, Wanda, but on a daily, hourly basis.

Who are you calling fringe?

Interesting stat:
GOP image goes from bad to worse

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Republican Party has hit a new low.

Just 34 percent of Americans in a Gallup Poll released Thursday say they have a favorable view of the party, down from 40 percent from a month ago, before the election.

What’s worse: 61 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Republican Party.

According to Gallup, that unfavorable rating is the highest the polling organization has recorded for the GOP since the measure was established in 1992.

who is the fringe again?

Webutante said...

First, this may be too subtle, but when I refer to fringe, William, I am talking about process and behaviors.

I can certainly understand why many people are disenchanted with the Republicans. This administration has walked away from many of our most hallowed principles, especially fiscal conservatism and smaller government. And people should be confused and turned off. I know I am. But that doesn't mean I'm turned off on the principles.

From Victor Davis Hanson on Pajamas Media Saturday:

The K-12 public education system is essentially wrecked. No longer can any professor expect an incoming college freshman to know what Okinawa, John Quincy Adams, Shiloh, the Parthenon, the Reformation, John Locke, the Second Amendment, or the Pythagorean Theorem is. An entire American culture, the West itself, its ideas and experiences, have simply vanished on the altar of therapy. This upcoming generation knows instead not to judge anyone by absolute standards (but not why so); to remember to say that its own Western culture is no different from, or indeed far worse than, the alternatives; that race, class, and gender are, well, important in some vague sense; that global warming is manmade and very soon will kill us all; that we must have hope and change of some undefined sort; that AIDs is no more a homosexual- than a heterosexual-prone disease; and that the following things and people for some reason must be bad, or at least must in public company be said to be bad (in no particular order): Wal-Mart, cowboys, the Vietnam War, oil companies, coal plants, nuclear power, George Bush, chemicals, leather, guns, states like Utah and Kansas, Sarah Palin, vans and SUVs.

******

And as if K-12 isn't bad enough, wait till the NEA, the gay lobby and the genderless society gets hold of such unpopular words as "mother and father" and "husband and wife," and tries to make them obsolete.....on taxpayers dollars.

Victor Davis Hanson is as wrong as you are, which makes sense since neither of you have children in public schools.

Why don't you do some investigating on your own to see what kids are being tested on instead of accepting the pablum and passing it off as "the truth"? Go here:

http://www.virginiasol.com/test.htm

and see what students in Virginia - in a variety of grades - are required to know for the "Standards of Learning" tests (or SOLs).

Still waiting for that information about the school teaching condom usage to 2nd graders. The name isn't important, the city and state will do. I'll be happy to pass along the information to the PTA on your behalf.

p.s. As for the notion that we're going to do away with "mother", "father", "husband" and "wife", puhleaze. Do you ever bother to get upset about things THAT ARE ACTUALLY HAPPENING and not made up by the rightwing echo machine?

All you guys need to do is vote. It's a secret ballot. No one will know who you are.
