He signed the law that made abortion legal throughout pregnancy.

I wouldn't laud him too much.

I'd bet a lot more black people (children) are dead due to this man's horrible signature than died under apartheid. I have no way of proving it, but, he's hardly a liberator of African people.

Thanks Marie for your good comment. It's true that he allowed for the world's most liberal abortion policy, and a sad part of Mandela's legacy. Anytime another human being is lionized for one thing, it's sure that other things are glossed over. And this is one of them.
