HOW BOUT THIS DREARY ONE bedraped in a canary-yellow shower curtain liner? Really. Isn't forty years enough for any one dictator, especially one with with seven mostly depraved sons who're living the life of privileged chaos?
Maybe it's just cause it's January, but seems to me a larger portion of leaders and would be power brokers are so passe, so 20th century. Who might they be? Since I'm going fishing today, I'll list them quickly as they pass through my mind.
People/places and things that seem stale to over to me:
Libya's Qaddafi, Egypt's Mubarak, Italy's Berlusconi, Columbia's Chavez, Davos and perpetual WEF smoozer- celebrities like Bono, Soros, Sean Penn and big bank peacocks, along with aging, perpetual Republican presidential contenders Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich just to name a few. Palin could, might, should be next on this list though I'm not ready to put here there quite yet.
None of them know how to take a chair or let some fresh air into the room.
These are just a few of dozens who beat dead horses to death and never want to move on. It's refreshing when they do, but when left to their own devices they cling to more, then have to be run out of town on a rail, or tossed in the Nile.
Down with passe, stale, I say! Defeat the dullards!
That's quite a list, from Qaddafi to Sarah Palin. She's only been on the scene three years, W-tante, and she's living rent-free in the entire Left's head. Leave her alone.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you couldn't come up with, say, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Or Peggy Noonan and Maureen Dowd. Or Richard Chen and E.J. Dionne. Or Barbara Walters. Or Michael Bloomberg.
I love your blog, but sheesh.
Question: where will the social conservatives hang their hat in 2012? Huckabee?
ReplyDeleteThat's Colonel Muammar Qaddafi. I love hearing him speak. Think he's as crazy as Michele Bachmann? Too close to call.
Anon, these are all perfectly good names for the list, but some, like Jesse, are so far gone that they don't bear mentioning. This was a brush stroke and not meant to be exhaustive. Thanks for the names though,
ReplyDeleteI do like Sarah Palin, though don't think ever she'll be president now. She is a powerful celebrity politician to be reckoned with however.
