TRULY ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS AS PEOPLE AND CARS ARE STRANDED ACROSS THE BRITISH ISLES, and airports from Gatwick to Edinburgh remain closed. I'm happy to say my beautiful British daughter-in-law is currently entertaining her lovely mother in Manhattan for a few more days, hopefully until the worst of this storm abates and the coast is clear for her Mum's safe return to England next week.

My father-in-law said that Long Island got a good shake from the offshore earthquake, but the wind was much worse.
