From the Fifth Floor Window Saturday
WHILE PLAYING WITH G-BOY AND BURPING G-GIRL yesterday, with parents taking a short break, suddenly from a cracked window choir music and singing erupted on the street below. I ran over to see what was happening, and to my surprise saw this grand procession first going out of the Russian Orthodox Church below, up the middle of the street and then back into the church fifteen minutes later. It was a majestic but somber affair, no doubt a ceremony mourning the deaths of the Polish leaders and friends on Russian soil this weekend. One of the things I noticed was that all the women had their heads covered with scarves. It was a beautiful and touching scene. The priests robes were stunning. May God have mercy on them all. How quickly life can change for any and all of us, in the blink of an eye. That's why accepting Christ is the only way, the only consolation. Seeing your loved ones again for all eternity no matter what happens here, is a promise worth banking on! On my way to church. More later.
